Current Valverde project
Alberta gas-plant decarbonization
Integrated oxy-fuel generation, compressor and generator electrification, air separation and CO₂ compression for sequestration at a large natural-gas processing plant operated by a Calgary-based producer. Surplus zero-emission electricity to the Alberta grid.

Hestia Project — oxy-fuel power for upstream oil-field operations
Preliminary front-end engineering design announced 22 February 2023 with MISC Berhad, Aker Solutions and Clean Energy Systems, covering two North American emission-free power projects in enhanced-oil-recovery operations. Valverde served as project manager.

These projects were developed by 2CO Ltd, the UK carbon-capture developer founded by Valverde’s CEO, and by Clean Energy Systems. They demonstrate relevant experience; they are not Valverde assets and did not reach commercial operation under the configurations described.

Don Valley Power Project, Yorkshire, UK
2CO engineered a complete carbon-capture project at a coal-fired plant in the UK, with the CO₂ to be sequestered in a North Sea oil field. The UK government elected not to fund the project through completion in the economic conditions of the time. The engineering, storage and commercial experience carried directly into Valverde’s formation.

Rio Bravo Project, California
A CCUS project in California’s San Joaquin Basin presented by Gareth Roberts as a previous project in October 2013, before Valverde’s current programme. Configuration, the team’s role and the outcome are to be confirmed by management before publication. verify
The 2023 portfolio estimates, in context
The February 2023 Hestia announcement described an initial inventory of 28 identified opportunities, estimated capital requirements of about US$4.6 billion and a potential carbon impact of roughly 8.6 million tonnes per year. Those were company screening estimates at the time. They are not current backlog, secured revenue, financed assets or demonstrated annual outcomes, and they are not presented here as such.
A refreshed portfolio view will distinguish screened opportunities from contracted and funded projects once management has approved the current figures. verify
